Digital Hospital (iEMR) Rollout

Metro North, Metro South and West Moreton Hospital and Health Services Facilities

It was N&P Contracting Pty Ltd’s knowledge and reputation within the Heath sector that was a major contributor to being successful in being awarded the Digital Hospital (iEMR) Stage 1 Rollout works across Metro North, Metro South and West Moreton Hospital and Health Services facilities. Our tender consisted of a complete engineered solution that was compliant to AS3003.

Facilities included:

  • Logan and Beaudesert Hospitals (MSHHS)
  • QEII and Redland Hospitals (MSHHS)
  • Caboolture Hospital (MNHHS)
  • Ipswich Hospital and Regional Hospitals and Community Health Centres (WMHHS)

The project works comprised of a partial upgrade of the hospital’s electrical infrastructure, including distribution switchboards and local power circuits as well as initial audits, AS3003 Cardiac and Body Protected Patient Area design and scheduling of the installations. As part of the project we successfully replaced over thirty distribution switchboards (each consisting of essential and non-essential boards) as well as existing distribution switchboard chassis upgrades.  This was a monumental achievement within live hospital environments and was accordingly acknowledged by all those stake holders within the respective projects.

Installation of new outlets for Digital Services and upgrades of selected Cardiac and Body Protected areas to latest AS3003 was also undertaken. We utilised N&P Contracting’s specialised AS3003 testing team to independently pre-commission the Body and Cardiac Protected installations to ensure all testing and commissioning procedures were conducted smoothly and accurately.

Considering the live hospital environment, clear and concise communication was essential to safeguarding the financial success of this project.  N&P Contracting’s firm understanding of the requirements of scheduled patient ward decanting as well as Infection Control Measures were able to positively influence strong quality based outcomes for all the project stakeholders involved.  The successes of these projects has cemented N&P Contracting’s relationships with Metro North, Metro South and West Moreton Hospital and Health Services facilities management teams, with opportunities from both entities borne from this successful journey.
